About Tanner Hesterberg

Tanner Hesterberg is a resident of Floyd County and a lifelong Kentuckian. He began his career with a strong foundation in journalism and legal studies at Morehead State University, spending more than seven years as a reporter and anchor at WYMT-TV in Hazard and WKYT-TV in Lexington. During that time, he earned multiple Associated Press awards, including Best Enterprise Reporting and Best Sports Play-by-Play.

Driven by a passion for justice, Tanner went on to graduate from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. After passing the bar, he secured his first trial victory in Hazard—the same town where his media career began. In early 2023, he founded Hesterberg Law Firm in Pikeville, focusing on criminal defense, expungements, and civil litigation. His work reflects a strong commitment to defending the rights of Eastern Kentuckians.

Beyond the courtroom, Tanner has written numerous appellate briefs, including a petition for writ of certiorari to the U.S. Supreme Court. He remains active in the community by calling high school and college games for TV and radio and serving on the speaking team at Destination Community Church in Prestonsburg.
